Direct One, the pioneer neutral telecom infrastructure operator in Romania and part of the E-INFRA Group, is looking for a Deputy CEO & Director of Automation & Systems Division.

With over 28 years of experience, E-INFRA Group is a powerhouse in energy, construction, and telecom infrastructure. At Direct One, we operate one of the largest neutral long-distance fiber optic networks in the country, while also delivering turnkey infrastructure projects, including fiber optics, CCTV, and integrated low-voltage systems. Now, we are setting up a brand-new Automation & Systems Division (covering CCTV, BMS, and ELV systems) to accelerate technological advancement for our customers.

This is a unique, dual-hat executive role where you will drive overall company strategy alongside the CEO while building and leading a strategic new business line from the ground up.

What you will do:

As Deputy CEO:

• Drive Strategy & Growth: Co-define the company’s strategic direction across telecom infrastructure, fiber optics, and smart systems. Identify new market opportunities and scalable business models.
• Executive Leadership: actively interact with Board of Directors (BoD); support overall governance, budget planning, financial performance and teams leadership.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure seamless collaboration between technical, commercial, and operations divisions to deliver integrated turnkey solutions.
• Strategic Partnerships: Represent Direct One in high-level client engagements and negotiations.

• Build & Lead: Define the strategy, structure, and service portfolio for this newly established division. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and project managers.
• Technical Excellence: Establish engineering best practices, reference architectures, and quality standards for LV/ELV automation systems.
• End-to-End Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of complex smart building projects—from concept, design, and tendering to execution, commissioning, and handover.
• Innovation & Compliance: Assess new technologies for smart buildings, standardize vendor selection, and ensure strict compliance with HSE and electrical regulations.

• Education: BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Electronics/Telecom, or a related technical field.
• Leadership Experience: At least 10 years in a senior leadership role (Head of/Director/Manager) out of which 3–5 years were spent in a managerial or director-level role within industrial/ residential automations, infrastructure, or telecom environments.
• Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with LV/ELV systems, BMS, CCTV, Access Control, and integrated building management systems (residential & office), including smart building platforms such as KNX and Crestron; exposure to industrial automation systems is considered a plus.
• Project Delivery: Proven track record in end-to-end delivery, including design, installation supervision, commissioning, and O&M.
• Skills: Strong ability to review technical documentation (CAD, BOMs, test protocols) and solid know-how in ELV integration and cybersecurity hygiene.
• Language: Advanced English proficiency.
• Certifications: ANRE and IGPR certifications in Low Voltage and ELV systems. (Certifications in BMS vendor platforms or CCTV/VMS are a big plus!)
