Direct One is setting up the Automation & Systems Division (covering CCTV, BMS and other Low & Extra Low Voltage Systems) as an important and strategic new business line to accelerate the technological advancement of the systems and solutions for our customers.
Role purpose & scope:
The Director of Automation & Systems Division (covering CCTV, BMS and other Low & Extra Low Voltage Systems) is accountable for the end-to-end technical leadership, delivery, and operational performance of automation and low-voltage (LV/ELV) systems projects and services. The role owns technical strategy, engineering governance, execution excellence, and lifecycle operations (maintenance / monitoring), while ensuring compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The role reports to the CEO, Direct One and will define the structure of the future Automation & CCTV, Low & Extra Low Voltage Systems Division by actively supporting the recruitment and organizational design strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Defines and implements the strategy for the newly established Division and continuously develops its service and solution portfolio.
- Defines and continuously improves technical standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices for LV/ELV automation systems (design rules, drawings, BOMs, test plans, commissioning checklists).
- Contributes to business development activities and sales growth.
- Drives Division profitability and commercial sustainability.
- Owns technical solutioning for bids/tenders and complex opportunities: requirements analysis, system architecture, compliance mapping, risk assessment, and costing inputs.
- Assesses and introduces new technologies and platforms relevant to smart buildings; represents the company in strategic partner discussions.
- Establishes quality, technical, and execution standards for all projects within the Division.
- Recruits, structures, and develops the Division’s team (design engineers, project managers, technicians) and defines roles, responsibilities, and performance KPIs.
- Mentors key team members and support their professional development.
- Ensures clear interfaces, responsibilities, and decision-making processes between the Division and other departments; participates in management reviews, performance reporting, and steering committees.
- Oversees the full lifecycle of all projects: concept and technical design, tendering and contracting, execution and system integration, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Ensures full compliance with applicable electrical and low-voltage regulations, customer standards, and internal policies (HSE/SSM/PSI), including project documentation and proper quality management of all actions.
- Standardizes vendor/device selection (preferred suppliers, product qualification, interoperability) and ensures lifecycle management (firmware, spares, obsolescence), where applicable.
Qualification & experience required:
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Electronics/Telecom, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant hands-on experience in LV/ELV systems, automation, security/CCTV, industrial or infrastructure environments, with at least 3 years spent in leadership (Head/Director/Manager) or in senior technical leading roles.
- Hands-on experience with projects in BMS, CCTV, Access Control, security and integrated building management systems, both residential and office building segments.
- Preferred hands-on experience with end-to-end delivery: design, installation supervision, commissioning, and O&M/service management.
- Ability to produce and review technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, test protocols, as-builts) and to work with CAD tools.
- ELV integration know-how: access control, sensors, structured cabling, network equipment, and cybersecurity hygiene.
- English: advanced
Mandatory Certification:
- ANRE and IGPR certifications in Low Voltage and ELV systems
- Other relevant certifications, such as BMS vendor platforms, CCTV/VMS, Access Control, structured cabling, are a plus

- Office location: Bucharest Ana Tower building
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30pm, in-office
- Role includes occasional travel based on business needs and may require availability for critical incidents/escalations.
